Owner / Senior Stylist
Anna has proudly owned Signature Hair Design since the 1990s, making it one of Whangārei’s longest-running hair salons!
After all these years, Anna remains passionate about the hair industry – keeping up with new trends, products, treatments, and techniques, with a particular interest in the science behind healthy hair.
Anna has built a strong team of stylists who love working for Signature, they stay long term, and often return after leaving. Her ability to lead, support, and bring out the best in her team has been a key part of the salon’s success.
Outside the salon, Anna loves spending time with her family at their bach in Oakura, where they enjoy fishing, gathering shellfish, and making the most of the outdoors. As a proud mum of three boys, life is always full of adventure.
Senior Stylist
Janaya is a long-standing senior stylist and a valued part of the Signature Hair Design team.
With over 20 years of experience, Janaya is known for her beautiful colour work, with foiling and highlights being some of her favourite creations. Her talent and loyal client base mean you’ll need to book in quickly to secure an appointment with her.
Outside of the salon, Janaya loves spending time with her kids, family, and friends. She also enjoys fishing, camping, and is currently studying to become a nurse.
Senior Stylist
With over 20 years of experience as a hairdresser, Maureen is a talented stylist who specialises in blonding services and precision cutting.
She particularly enjoys transforming dark hair to blonde, using a reliable and effective system that creates beautiful results while supporting the health and integrity of the hair.
Maureen works part-time so she can spend quality time with her young son. Outside of the salon, she loves styling parties, decorating, and getting creative with new projects.
Senior Stylist
Vicki is a passionate and skilled hairstylist who loves creating beautiful transformations through expert cuts, colour, and styling.
With a strong focus on hair health, Vicki specialises in scalp care, helping clients achieve not only a great look, but stronger, healthier hair overall. She is known for her personalised approach, selecting hair colours to enhance each client’s skin tone and facial features, and recommending haircuts tailored to individual face shapes.
When she’s not in the salon, you’ll usually find Vicki spending time outdoors, hiking, diving into a good book, or relaxing on the farm.
Senior Stylist
Nicole is currently on a period of leave, but when she returns to the salon, you’ll want to be quick to book in as her clients absolutely love her.
As a senior stylist, Nicole is passionate about blonde colour work and balayage. She also specialises in hair extensions and is known for really listening to her clients’ needs, helping them feel understood, confident, and cared for in the salon.
After working as a counsellor in Australia for many years, Nicole now enjoys getting her hands dirty in the garden on the weekends.
Senior Stylist
Abi has been a professional hairstylist since 2019 and truly loves what she does. For Abi, hairdressing is her creative outlet. She specialises in natural curly hair and creative blonde work, from soft, lived-in balayage to high-impact, bright blondes, always prioritising the integrity and health of the hair.
Outside of the salon, you’ll usually find Abi riding horses, getting lost in a good book, or heading off on a road trip with her husband.
Stylist
Billie has been part of the Signature Hair Design team since 2021 and loves helping clients express their individual style through beautiful, personalised hair.
Whether it’s a fresh cut, a blended blonde, a bright vivid, or a full creative colour transformation, Billie enjoys creating alternative and modern styles that help each client feel confident and expressive.
When she’s not in the salon, you’ll usually find Billie soaking up the sun at the beach or getting creative with an art project.
